The Story of Sharing Wonders

Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference. When you commit to regular donations, your impact grows over time, helping more communities like those we support in Gambia.

2002

The Beginning

Sharing Wonders was founded in 2002 by a small group of dedicated women in the UK. They started by collecting donations from friends to fund charity projects primarily in the UK, Pakistan, and a few smaller initiatives in The Gambia. Their commitment to transparency and effective use of funds quickly gained the trust and support of more donors.

2016

Official Registration

As the group grew in size and impact, it became necessary to formalize their efforts. In November 2016, Sharing Wonders was officially registered with the UK Charity Commission under the name 'Sharing Wonders'. This step allowed us to better focus on our mission and expand our reach. Our UK Charity Registration Number is 1170087, and you can verify our status and legitimacy through the UK Charity Commission website.

Our future

Across our 7 schools that we currently support, this year will see a concerted effort towards raising the standard of education in each school. We are achieving this by providing

engaging educational professionals to help provide international levels of improvements. This includes teacher training. Standardising marking methods across the schools, to help for easier comparison.

Improving our computerised record keeping and student educational tracking. Electronic records of each student are already in place .

We have many requests asking for help to complete school buildings, build sanitary facilities and help assist in the renovation of dilapidated masjids. These are usually quick turn around projects and a great way to invest in sadaqah jariyah (continuous giving)

We are actively seeking out communities where they cannot afford to send their children to school, which in turn is helping build a database of qualified children that need support.
